In the Caribbean or Hawaii, rental rates for good quality villas are much higher than in Costa Rica (double, triple or even more). Villa rental agents in places such as Barbados, Mystique, etc. recommend 10% of the rental fee to be given as "tip". In Costa Rica tipping is not necessarily expected but appreciated. We at Manu villas and Spa believe that you should tip according to the service you received so the tip is totally up to you. In Europe and in the US including Hawaii, you cannot expect any full-time house staff, and villa rental is usually a kind of self-service holiday. Manu villas and Spa has 4 full-time staff, and we the owners live on site so we can guarantee our service.
